Students in Cyprus will be allowed to stay indoors during breaks in classrooms with heating, following new instructions from the Ministry of Education.

Education Minister Athena Michaelidou announced this measure on CyBC Radio, noting that very few schools remain without central heating.

Michaelidou reported that 1,200 heating devices have been installed in 53 schools across the island, marking the completion of the first phase of the project.

The second phase, which involves the installation of heating systems in additional schools, is now underway.

She explained that final approval from the EAC for each school is expected by April or May, provided that the school boards submit their plans.
