Cyprus’ Statistical Service has begun the 2026 Household Budget Survey, a year‑long study required under EU Regulation 2019/1700.
The survey tracks household spending to update the Consumer Price Index, revise the list of goods and services in the household basket and improve national accounts and other socioeconomic indicators.
A sample of 4,800 households across urban and rural areas will be surveyed between February 2026 and January 2027.
Enumerators will visit about 240 households every 18 days to capture seasonal spending patterns, the agency said.
The survey is mandatory under the 2021 Official Statistics Law.
Respondents must provide accurate information, and refusal or submission of false data is an offense.
All information will be kept confidential and used only for statistical purposes.
