A quadriplegic patient at Nicosia General Hospital was targeted in a theft yesterday afternoon, according to police.
An unknown man entered the patient’s ward, stole a large amount of money from his wallet, and took his mobile phone.
The incident was discovered through closed-circuit surveillance footage, which captured the thief’s movements.
Witnesses also reported seeing the man.
When questioned by hospital staff, the suspect claimed to be a relative of the patient.
Police are investigating the incident.
