NICOSIA, Cyprus — Cyprus opens its Competitive Electricity Market today, marking a major step toward fostering healthy competition in the country’s energy sector, according to the Electricity Market Association.
Seventeen participants are entering the market in its initial phase, including two producers, ten suppliers, nine aggregators representing renewable energy sources, and three renewable energy producers.
The move is expected to diversify energy offerings and improve efficiency across the island’s power grid.
