PAPHOS, Cyprus — Damage sustained at the Mavrokolympos Dam in January has been successfully repaired, officials confirmed to Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation.
Charalambos Pittokopitis, president of the Paphos Water Board, stated that the dam — with a capacity of 1.4 million cubic meters — has already begun receiving its first inflows.
District Water Development Engineer Haris Kasioulis noted that Mavrokolympos is integrated into Paphos’s irrigation network and has the unique capability to store water from the Asprokremmos reservoir as well.
