FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a travel advisory urging all Cypriot citizens to avoid traveling to South Sudan due to the volatile security situation in the country.
For Cypriots currently in South Sudan, the ministry strongly recommends leaving as soon as possible, as conditions may worsen unexpectedly, and the capacity to offer consular assistance during severe unrest is extremely limited.
Those remaining in South Sudan are advised to exercise heightened vigilance, regularly monitor developments through trusted international and local news sources, and take comprehensive security precautions to ensure their safety.
The ministry emphasized the importance of staying informed and planning for contingencies, reiterating the risks associated with the unpredictable situation on the ground. Citizens are encouraged to remain in contact with relevant diplomatic channels for updated information and emergency support if required.
