FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – A recent Uutissuomalainen poll reveals that two-thirds of Finns are worried about the security of Finland and Europe due to changes in U.S. policy under President Donald Trump.
Conducted between March 11 and 19 with 1,000 respondents, the survey found 44 percent were somewhat concerned, while 22 percent were very concerned.
Only five percent expressed no concern.
Key sources of unease include reduced U.S. commitment to NATO and rising tariffs.
Women were more likely to express concern (73 percent) compared to men (59 percent), and political affiliation also influenced opinions, with Left Alliance supporters showing higher levels of worry than Finns Party backers.
Experts note that similar fears are growing across Europe, with a YouGov survey indicating nearly half of Britons and Germans view Trump as a significant threat to European security.
