NICOSIA — The Turkish controlled ‘Municipality of Nicosia’announced that its city council has unanimously approved a motion titled “Solidarity with the Palestinian People,” following a meeting convened by Mayor Mehmet Harmancı.
The motion aims to build a bridge of solidarity between the residents of Nicosia and the Palestinian people, described in the statement as engaged in a “just struggle for existence.” The municipality also voiced deep sorrow and outrage over the violence unfolding in Gaza.
Details of the motion and the council’s decision will be presented to the public during a press conference on Wednesday, with ‘Mayor’ Harmancı and council members expected to attend.
