FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – A 66-year-old man has died following a heated argument in Nicosia.
The incident, which occurred at dusk on Saturday, escalated when the man was reportedly struck by a 57-year-old during the verbal spat.
Despite initially appearing to sustain only minor injuries, the victim managed to report the incident to officers at the nearby Peristerona police station.
He was subsequently advised to seek medical attention and was being driven to Nicosia General Hospital by relatives when he lost consciousness. He was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The 57-year-old suspect has been taken into custody as detectives from the Nicosia CID investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
