Cypriot authorities are pressing ahead with an intensive investigation after arresting two Palestinian men on terrorism‑related charges and alleged involvement in a criminal organization.
The suspects, ages 33 and 38, have been ordered held for eight days. Police say neither man has cooperated with investigators so far.
Searches at a residence in Governor’s Beach and an apartment in Larnaca, both linked to one of the suspects, turned up a large quantity of materials that police say could be used to manufacture explosive devices.
A police spokesperson said the case is being handled in coordination with international partners. Asked whether the men were planning an attack in Cyprus, the spokesperson said that possibility remains under investigation.
