A 55‑year‑old woman from Hungary died after a head‑on collision on the Meneou–Pervolia road, Cypriot police said.
Helga Tartsai, a permanent resident of Cyprus, was driving with her 26‑year‑old daughter when a car driven by a 26‑year‑old man collided with her vehicle under circumstances still under investigation.
The impact trapped Tartsai in her car, and firefighters were called to free her.
She was taken to Larnaca General Hospital in critical condition and later died of her injuries.
The two other occupants involved in the crash were not hurt.
Police have issued an arrest warrant for the 26‑year‑old driver.
