Cyprus recorded a budget surplus of €567.1m for the period January to March 2026, according to figures published by the Cyprus Statistical Service and reported by the newspaper Alithia.
Total government revenue for the quarter rose by 5.8% compared with the same period last year, reaching €3.819bn, up from €3.612bn in the first three months of 2025.
In a separate report, Alithia said Cyprus’s public debt stood at 54.2% of GDP in the first quarter of 2026, citing figures from the EU statistics agency Eurostat.
The newspaper said public debt fell to €20.089bn in the first three months of 2026, down from €21.79bn recorded in the same period of the previous year.
