President Nikos Christodoulides will begin a two‑day official visit to Rome, where discussions will focus on Cyprus–Italy relations, the Cyprus issue and priorities for Cyprus’ upcoming presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The president is scheduled to meet Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at 14:30, followed by joint statements.
On Friday, he will be formally received at the Quirinale Palace by President Sergio Mattarella. The two leaders will hold a meeting and attend a working lunch hosted by the Italian president for Christodoulides and the Cypriot delegation.
Later in the day, the two presidents will inaugurate an archaeological exhibition titled “Cyprus and Italy: A Shared Cultural Identity from the Dawn of History.”
Christodoulides will also hold a working meeting with the chief executive of ENI, the energy company active in Cyprus’ Exclusive Economic Zone.
