FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Punin Group has acquired the Hadjiantonas Winery in Parekklisia, Limassol, and will transform it into Château Punin, Cyprus’ first winery built in the traditional château style.

The estate will serve as the future home of a Pinot Noir wine, set to debut in 2030.

The acquisition marks a key milestone in Punin Group’s expansion into the wine and spirits industry, combining advanced technology with respect for centuries-old winemaking heritage.

Cyprus boasts a rich winemaking heritage that spans over 6,000 years, with its indigenous grape varieties offering unique flavors and aromas.

Commandaria, one of the world’s oldest named wines, is a standout, celebrated for its sweet and rich profile that has captivated wine enthusiasts since ancient times.

The island’s rare Giannoudi grape is also gaining recognition for its resilience and distinctive deep red wines, characterized by notes of red fruits, herbs, and spices. Efforts by local winemakers to revive traditional varieties have positioned Cyprus as a rising star in the global wine scene.
