FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Serious crime in Cyprus increased in 2024 compared to the previous two years, with authorities also flagging concerns over juvenile involvement in major offenses.
Police recorded 6,014 serious crimes last year, up from 5,649 in 2023 and 5,402 in 2022.
A total of 17,065 serious crimes were reported across the island between 2022 and 2024.
Limassol recorded the highest number of serious crimes in 2024, with 1,474 cases, followed by Nicosia with 1,443.
Paphos ranked third with 1,091 incidents, while Larnaca reported 1,025. Famagusta recorded 857 cases, and Morphou had 124.
