Water levels in Cyprus’s reservoirs have fallen to just 11.3% of total capacity due to ongoing drought conditions.

The current volume amounts to roughly 33 million cubic meters of water, a sharp decline from the same period last year, when reservoirs held 78 million cubic meters—26.8% of capacity.

The Kouris Dam, one of the island’s largest, currently holds 12 million cubic meters, or 10.5% of its full volume.

Authorities are reportedly planning to deploy new mobile water treatment units to help manage the growing water shortage.
