Cyprus Revokes Roadworthiness Certificates for Over 2,000 Opel Vehicles Over Airbag Defect

Cyprus’ Department of Road Transport has revoked the roadworthiness certificates for 2,123 Opel vehicles due to a safety recall involving defective passenger-side Takata airbags.

In a statement, the department said it was informed by CIC Automasters, Opel’s distributor in Cyprus, that the manufacturer Opel/Vauxhall had issued a recall. The company has instructed vehicle owners to replace the faulty airbags immediately.

The department urged affected vehicle owners to contact CIC Automasters for further guidance and to arrange for the necessary repairs.
