Cyprus: Seasonal Low Pressure, Warm Air Dominate Forecast

ByFamagusta Gazette

Jun 26, 2025

Seasonal low pressure systems and warm air masses are expected to influence weather conditions across the region.

Thursday will be mostly clear, though areas along the eastern and southern coasts may see patchy low clouds and light fog or mist early in the day. Winds will start out variable and light at 3 on the Beaufort scale, gradually shifting to a southwest-to-northwest direction, blowing at 3 to 4 Beaufort. Brief periods of stronger winds — up to 5 Beaufort — are possible along the southern coast. Seas will be slightly rough.

Temperatures will climb to 41 degrees Celsius inland, about 33 degrees on the western and southwestern coasts, 35 degrees along the remaining coastal areas, and 31 degrees in the higher elevations.

Thursday night will remain mostly clear. Low clouds and light fog or mist may redevelop near dawn, especially along the east and south coasts. Winds will become mostly northwest to northeast and variable at 2 to 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slightly rough. Overnight lows will fall to around 22 degrees inland and along the coast, and about 20 degrees in the mountains.

Friday will be mostly sunny. Saturday and Sunday will bring increased afternoon cloudiness in some areas. Morning fog or low clouds may form along the coast each day.

Temperatures will remain above seasonal averages through Saturday, with a slight dip expected Sunday.
