Cyprus’ trade deficit grew in the first four months of 2026 as imports rose and exports declined, according to data released by the Statistical Service and reported by Politis.
Total imports increased from €4.5 billion in January–April 2025 to €4.7 billion in the same period this year, a 4.8% rise.
Exports fell from €1.8 billion to €1.6 billion, a drop of 9.3%.
As a result, the trade deficit widened from €2.7 billion in the first four months of 2025 to €3.1 billion in the corresponding period of 2026.
