The Forest Department held two meetings with United Nations representatives as part of preparations for the start of the wildfire season and efforts to strengthen operational readiness.
The discussions focused on reviewing and coordinating established procedures for responding to fires inside the UN‑controlled buffer zone, as well as enhancing cooperation among all involved agencies.
Officials also carried out on‑site visits and inspections at entry points to the buffer zone to assess readiness and ensure immediate access in the event of an emergency.
Staff from the Forest Department and the Fire Service took part in the meetings and inspections as part of ongoing inter‑agency coordination.
