Today, skies will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers, and a brief isolated thunderstorm cannot be ruled out — mainly over the western half of the island and later in northern areas.
Light snow or sleet may fall on the highest peaks of Troodos.
Winds will be mainly southwest to northwest at light to moderate strength, 3 to 4 Beaufort, increasing to strong in windward areas, 4 to 5 Beaufort, and briefly very strong, 5 to 6 Beaufort, along the southeast coast. Seas will be slight to moderate.
Temperatures will reach around 20°C inland and along the coast, and 9°C in the higher mountains.
Tonight, isolated showers are expected, especially in the mountains and in western and southern districts. Later — mainly toward morning — local showers and isolated thunderstorms are likely. Light snow or sleet may again fall on the highest Troodos peaks.
Winds will shift southeast to southwest, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, strengthening to moderate to strong and in windward areas very strong, up to 6 Beaufort. Seas will become moderate and later rough in the west. Temperatures will drop to 12°C inland, around 14°C on the coast and 6°C in the higher mountains.
On Wednesday, the weather will remain mostly cloudy with local showers and isolated thunderstorms. Conditions will ease by afternoon, with rain confined mainly to the west. The region will be affected by a very strong to near‑gale westerly flow, weakening by nightfall. Snow or sleet is expected again on the highest peaks.
Thursday and Friday will bring periods of increased cloud cover.
Temperatures on Wednesday will fall slightly, remaining just above seasonal averages, before rising modestly again by Friday.
