A low‑pressure system is affecting the region, with light high pressure expected to follow on Tuesday. Thick dust will linger in the atmosphere through the afternoon before gradually thinning and clearing by tonight.
Skies will turn partly to mostly cloudy this afternoon, bringing local showers and isolated thunderstorms. Hail is possible in any storm. Winds will blow from the southwest to west at moderate to strong levels, reaching 4 to 5 Beaufort and briefly up to 6 Beaufort in some areas. Seas will be rough to very rough.
Tonight will start mostly cloudy with local showers and possibly an isolated thunderstorm, mainly in the western half of the island. Conditions will improve later in the night. Winds will remain southwesterly to northwesterly at 4 to 5 Beaufort, with early pockets of stronger gusts. Temperatures will drop to 10°C inland and along the coast, and 4°C in the higher mountains.
Tuesday will bring partly cloudy skies with a chance of isolated early showers, mainly in the west. Winds will again range from moderate to strong southwesterlies to northwesterlies, occasionally reaching very strong levels. Seas will stay rough. Temperatures will rise to 17°C inland and on the west and north coasts, 19°C on the remaining coasts, and 8°C in the higher elevations.
Wednesday is expected to be mostly clear. Thursday will see periods of increased cloud cover. Friday will turn partly cloudy with local showers and possibly an isolated thunderstorm.
Temperatures will show little change through Friday, remaining slightly above seasonal averages.
