A low‑pressure system is affecting the region.

Today’s weather will be partly cloudy at times with local showers and isolated thunderstorms. Hail is possible in any storm. Dust will be present in the atmosphere but is expected to subside by evening. Winds will start out mainly from the northeast, light to moderate and locally moderate to strong at 4 to 5 Beaufort, shifting to northwesterly late in the afternoon at similar strength. Seas will be moderate to rough. Temperatures will reach 19°C inland, 20°C along the coast and 9°C in the higher mountains.

Tonight will be partly cloudy with isolated showers or a thunderstorm, mainly along the western and northern coasts. Winds will blow from the west to northwest, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, and locally strong at 5 Beaufort in windward areas. Seas will be slight to moderate, becoming rough later in exposed areas. Temperatures will drop to 9°C inland, 10°C on the south and east coasts, 13°C on the west and north coasts, and 3°C in the higher mountains, where frost may form.

Local showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected at times on Friday and through the weekend. Hail is possible in storms, and snow or sleet may fall on the highest peaks of Troodos.

Temperatures will gradually fall through Saturday to below seasonal averages, before a slight rise on Sunday.
