FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – The Cypriot government has expressed satisfaction with the United Kingdom’s commitment to resolving the Cyprus problem within the agreed framework.
Speaking to reporters late Friday at the Presidential Palace, a government spokesperson described the meeting between President Nikos Christodoulides and the U.K.’s Minister of State for Europe, Stephen Doughty, as “very constructive.”
The discussion focused on the excellent bilateral relations between Cyprus and the U.K., as well as plans to further strengthen ties through strategic dialogue.
The meeting comes amid renewed international efforts to address the decades-long Cyprus issue. President Christodoulides has also been invited to participate in a United Nations meeting on the Cyprus problem in Geneva later this month, where stakeholders aim to create positive momentum for a resolution.
