The Meteorological Service in Cyprus issued a yellow warning for severe weather on Sunday, in effect from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Isolated thunderstorms are expected to affect western, northern and southern areas first, before spreading to other parts of the island.
Rainfall intensity may locally exceed 35 millimeters per hour, and hail is also possible.
