On Thursday, a group of armed men loyal to Syria’s ousted President Bashar al-Assad attacked Syrian security forces, resulting in the deaths of 28 people.
Initially, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported 16 casualties, but later revised the number to 28.
In response to the violence, Syrian security forces imposed a curfew for the entire Latakia province on Thursday evening.
The curfew will remain in effect until 10 a.m. Friday morning.
