The Defense Ministry said Wednesday that an internal investigation is underway into the disappearance of explosive material during a National Guard exercise.
According to the ministry, the inquiry being conducted within the National Guard is progressing and is expected to be completed next week, after which the findings will be made public.
The ministry also expressed full confidence in the police, who are carrying out a parallel criminal investigation.
Police are “making every possible effort” to conclude their probe, the ministry said, adding that results will be forwarded to the appropriate authorities in line with established procedures.
