Drug Seizures Rise Sharply in Cyprus in 2025, Police Data Show

Authorities in Cyprus have seized significantly larger quantities of illegal drugs so far this year compared with 2024.

Police have confiscated 815 kilograms of cannabis in 2025 to date, up from 617 kilograms last year.

Cocaine seizures reached 52 kilograms, roughly the same level as in 2024, the report said.

Methamphetamine seizures rose sharply, with 6.5 kilograms recovered this year compared with just 448 grams in 2024.

Police also seized 1.5 kilograms of cannabis resin.

The Anti‑Narcotics Unit has handled 1,076 drug‑related cases so far this year and made 1,072 arrests.

In 2024, officers dealt with 1,077 cases and carried out 1,047 arrests.
