An English grandmother has died from rabies after being infected by a puppy in Morocco earlier this year.
According to her family, she first began showing symptoms two weeks ago, months after returning from her vacation.
In a Facebook post, her daughter wrote that the woman had been “almost” scratched by a puppy during her trip in February.
Her symptoms started with a headache and later worsened until she was unable to walk, talk, sleep, or swallow.
“When she was scratched, she didn’t think it was anything harmful,” her daughter wrote.
