Turkish Coast Guard teams rescued 34 irregular migrants, including three children, after their rubber boat suffered engine failure off the coast of Çeşme, a popular resort town in western Turkey.

According to a statement from the Coast Guard Command, the vessel was drifting when it issued a distress call. A rescue boat was immediately dispatched and successfully brought all passengers to safety.

The migrants were later transferred to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management following standard procedures.

Çeşme, located in İzmir Province, lies across the Aegean Sea from the Greek island of Chios and is frequently used as a departure point for migrants attempting to reach Europe.
