FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday accused Israel of pursuing “expansionist” ambitions in the Gaza Strip, warning that such actions harm all parties involved and undermine peace efforts throughout the region.

“Fueling tension, fanning flames and pursuing new maps with expansionist intentions will not benefit anyone,” Erdogan said during an event organized by his ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP).

Erdogan condemned the killings of civilians and healthcare workers in Gaza and emphasized Türkiye’s commitment to ending the violence. “Just as we want peace in our own country, we want peace in Syria, Gaza, Lebanon, and Libya,” he added.

Türkiye is actively working to halt the violence and restore peace in Gaza, Erdogan said, reiterating that Ankara is doing “everything in our power to stop the massacres in Gaza, to achieve a ceasefire, and to open the road to peace.”

Erdogan’s remarks come amid heightened tensions in the region, where Israel’s actions have drawn widespread criticism.
