Estonia’s Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna announced that the country will increase its defense budget to 5% of its gross national product within two years.

Tsahkna emphasized the need for Europe to take action and invest more in its own security, especially in light of recent statements by US President Donald Trump.

During a visit to Norway, Tsahkna stressed the importance of European unity and collaboration in defense efforts.

Tsahkna warned that the withdrawal of US forces from NATO operations on the eastern flank could have significant consequences for the region.

Tsahkna also criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin, stating that Putin is not interested in peace and long-term stability.

He argued that removing troops from the eastern flank would be illogical and urged Europe to demonstrate its commitment to making substantial investments in defense.
