France’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Nicolas de Riviere, claimed that “the two-state solution advocated by Türkiye and the Turkish Cypriot side would not be good for Cyprus.”
Haravgi newspaper quoted France’s UN Permanent Representative Nicolas de Riviere as saying in a statement to the Athens News Agency that they support the start of negotiations for the solution of the Cyprus problem and the bi-communal, bi-zonal federation solution.
According to the report, Riviere claimed in his statement that “the Turkish Cypriot side, with the support of Turkey, has now put forward only the two-state solution, but this contradicts the bi-communal, bi-zonal federation supported by the UN.”
