At least 32 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas was announced on Wednesday evening, according to rescue workers.

The Gaza Civil Defense says, according to Al Jazeera, that Israel has stepped up its attacks since the agreement was announced on Wednesday evening. According to the Civil Defense, an apartment building with several homes was bombed.

“The attacks did not stop, despite the announcement of the ceasefire,” spokesman Mahmoud Bassal told the AFP news agency.

Both Qatar’s Prime Minister and US President Joe Biden confirmed on Wednesday evening that an agreement was in place. It will not come into effect until Sunday, January 19.
