Greece: Magnitude 4.5 Earthquake Strikes Evia, Felt in Attica

FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – — A 4.5-magnitude earthquake occurred at 3:23 a.m. Monday, with tremors felt in Attica.

The epicenter was located 3 kilometers east of Prokopio, Evia, at a focal depth of 16.9 kilometers, according to the revised assessment from the Geodynamic Institute.

Earlier preliminary readings placed the epicenter 8 kilometers east of Prokopio at a depth of 5 kilometers, with an initial estimate locating it 6 kilometers east-northeast of Prokopio.

Authorities continue to monitor seismic activity in the region.
