FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen urged unity within the Kingdom of Denmark on Sunday, emphasizing the need to address increasingly complex global issues.

“When strong forces seek to do us harm, the entire Kingdom must stand together,” Frederiksen said during a joint appearance with Jens-Frederik Nielsen, Greenland’s prime minister.

Asked if she would meet with U.S. President Donald Trump, Frederiksen responded, “We are always willing to meet and negotiate with the American president.”

Nielsen criticized recent U.S. remarks about Greenland, calling them “disrespectful.” He added that Greenland remains open to partnerships based on “mutual respect.”

Frederiksen agreed with Nielsen’s remarks. “I totally agree with that,” she said.

The Danish Royal House announced that King Frederik X is scheduled to visit Greenland on Monday.
