FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – British Prime Minister Keir Starmer spoke with U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday evening to advance what Downing Street described as “productive negotiations” toward an “economic prosperity deal.”
In a statement, officials said the two leaders agreed to continue talks this week.
Starmer also briefed Trump on last week’s “coalition of willing” meeting in Paris, with both leaders committing to maintaining pressure on Russia.
Trump has declared April 2 as “Liberation Day,” when he is expected to unveil tariffs affecting all U.S. trade partners.
While details of the tariffs remain unclear, concerns are mounting among U.S. allies.
