A major cyber-heist has rocked a local company in Cyprus after unknown hackers made off with nearly half a million euros in cryptocurrency.
The digital raid reportedly took place in April and targeted the company’s crypto wallet, siphoning off €459,000 through unauthorized access. The firm, whose name has not been released, has filed a formal complaint with police.
Investigators from the Cyber Crime Unit are now racing to track down the perpetrators behind what’s being described as one of the largest online fraud cases in recent months.
Meanwhile, police have issued fresh warnings to the public, urging users to beef up security on their digital wallets and stick to reputable platforms for crypto transactions.
