FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – The defense ministers of Cyprus and Egypt reaffirmed the strategic importance of their cooperation in defense and security during an official meeting in Cairo on Monday.
According to a statement from the Cypriot Ministry of Defense, ministers Vasilis Palmas and Abdel-Meguid Sakr discussed international and regional developments, security challenges in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East, and the impact of ongoing conflicts in the region.
Palmas emphasized Cyprus’ commitment to strengthening its relationship with Egypt and highlighted the role both nations play in maintaining stability in the wider region.
He praised Egypt as a strategic partner in promoting peace, security, and cooperation.
