The Turkish Cypriot ‘Minister of Public Works and Transportation’ Erhan Arıklı met with AJet General Manager Kerem Sarp to discuss the new Ercan Airport terminal, flights, and tourism between Turkish occupied northern Cyprus and Turkey.

During their talk, Sarp emphasized the high taxes on flights, which prevent airlines from offering cheaper tickets.

He announced that AJet would increase flights to northern Cyprus by 50 percent, potentially lowering ticket prices, but stressed the need for tax reductions.

Arıklı acknowledged the challenges in reducing ticket prices and attracting tourists. He suggested using larger aircraft for some routes and proposed waiving some taxes to ensure cheaper tickets and boost tourism in northern Cyprus.
