It has been reported that there has been an increase in Greek Cypriots’ payments by credit card.
According to Politis, data published by the European Central Bank showed that payments made by card reached 73 percent of all payments in the first half of 2024, a rate 0.8 percent higher than the same period in 2023.
Published data show that credit transfers, which account for 15.7 percent of total transactions, increased by 0.5 percent in the first half of 2024, automatic payments decreased by 0.9 percent to 4.4 percent, and payments by electronic bank card increased by 0.7 percent to 3.7 percent.
