The Industrial Turnover Index in Cyprus climbed 5.6 percent in September 2025 compared with the same month a year earlier, reaching 151.8 units (base 2021=100), according to provisional data released by the Statistical Service.
For the period January–September 2025, the index rose 4.2 percent year-on-year.
Sector Breakdown
- Manufacturing: Up 9.6 percent to 143.4 units.
- Mining and quarrying: Up 8.5 percent.
- Electricity supply: Down 6.0 percent.
- Water supply and materials recovery: Down 0.6 percent.
Within manufacturing, notable increases were recorded in:
- Wood products (+17.9%)
- Basic metals (+21.0%)
- Electronic and optical products (+36.4%)
- Machinery and transport equipment (+20.8%)
- Furniture and other manufacturing (+21.4%)
Declines were seen in textiles (-8.6%) and refined petroleum, chemicals and pharmaceuticals (-8.9%).
Local vs. Export Markets
- Local turnover index: 157.4, up 5.9 percent.
- Export turnover index: 122.5, up 4.1 percent.
The Industrial Turnover Index tracks monthly changes in turnover across mining, manufacturing, electricity supply, and water supply/materials recovery, classified under NACE Rev. 2 of the European Union.
