FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Israel has approved a maritime trade cooperation agreement with Morocco, set to take effect within 30 days, the Israeli Ministry of Transport and Road Safety announced earlier.
Signed in Rabat in May 2023, the agreement covers maritime transport issues including port entry, safety, taxation, tariffs, and dispute resolution.
It also ensures mutual recognition of maritime documents and equal treatment for shipping companies from both countries.
Israeli Minister of Transport Miri Regev called the agreement a significant step in strengthening ties between Israel and Morocco.
The opening of maritime trade routes is expected to benefit both economies and create new opportunities for cooperation.
A joint maritime committee will be formed to oversee implementation and address transport-related issues between the two nations.
