GAZA CITY— Israeli forces escalated their ground offensive in Gaza City on Tuesday, unleashing heavy bombardments and tank fire as part of Operation Gideon’s Chariots 2.

The city remains under siege following the launch of the large-scale invasion, which aims to dismantle Hamas infrastructure and force mass displacement.

At least 106 Palestinians were killed across the enclave in the early hours of the day, with 91 of the deaths reported in Gaza City. The relentless strikes have driven thousands of residents to seek shelter or attempt to flee south, many without the means to cover transportation costs.

Despite initial resistance from civilians unwilling to leave their homes, the Israeli military has employed tactics designed to make Gaza City uninhabitable.

These include the destruction of public infrastructure and the suspension of humanitarian aid, prompting warnings from international agencies about worsening famine and disease.

The offensive marks a new phase in Israel’s campaign, which has already displaced tens of thousands and drawn condemnation from humanitarian groups.

The situation continues to deteriorate as residents face mounting pressure to evacuate amid ongoing shelling and the collapse of essential services.
