FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Israel’s National Security Council has advised Israelis traveling to Switzerland for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest to avoid demonstrations and limit their visibility in public spaces.
In a statement, the council warned that international events such as Eurovision could be targeted by terrorist groups and urged travelers to refrain from displaying Israeli or Jewish symbols.
The advisory also cautioned against sharing travel plans and locations on social media, citing security risks.
According to the council, Switzerland has seen 360 anti-Israel protests in the past year, and similar demonstrations are expected during Eurovision, with some potentially targeting Israelis and the Israeli delegation.
The contest takes place next week in Basel.
