Israel has launched a new national renewable‑energy plan that aims to more than triple the country’s clean‑energy capacity by 2035, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure said.
The strategy focuses on a major expansion of solar power, including agrivoltaic projects, ground‑mounted installations and dual‑use systems, alongside other renewable technologies.
The plan also calls for large investments in smart electricity grids and energy‑storage systems to support higher levels of renewable power.
Israel is targeting 26 gigawatts of renewable‑energy capacity by 2035.
About 8 gigawatts are currently installed, supplying more than 16% of the country’s electricity.
