FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Israeli airstrikes targeted a Hezbollah drone storage facility in Beirut’s southern suburbs Friday, the first such attack since the November 2024 ceasefire.
The strike followed rocket fire from southern Lebanon into northern Israel earlier in the day. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) responded with retaliatory strikes on Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, leading to two deaths and 21 injuries, according to Lebanese officials.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned Lebanon’s government of further consequences, while Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the strikes during a meeting with international leaders in Paris.
French President Emmanuel Macron called the attacks a ceasefire violation.
