FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Johns Hopkins University has laid off over 2,000 employees due to the Trump administration’s significant aid cuts.
The university announced the halt of more than $800 million in USAID funding, which is ending vital work in Baltimore and abroad.
Since Trump returned to the White House in January, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has faced massive cuts.
The US State Department has suspended 83% of USAID programs, as part of an effort led by Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to reduce public spending.
