FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – More journalists have been killed in Gaza than in any other conflict over the past 160 years, except for the Iraq war, according to a report from Cost of War, a research project at Brown University’s Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs.

At least 230 Palestinian journalists and media workers have lost their lives in Israeli attacks on Gaza over the past 19 months, based on figures compiled by the Palestinian Journalists’ Union, the Committee to Protect Journalists, and Al Jazeera.

Among the latest casualties is journalist Hassan Eslaih, who was killed in an Israeli strike on Nasser Hospital while receiving treatment, the reports said.

Several Israeli attacks have targeted vehicles and buildings clearly identified as press facilities, according to journalist organizations tracking the deaths.
