Train services between London and Paris have resumed after an unexploded World War II bomb was safely removed near the tracks in the French capital.

Operations at Gare du Nord, one of Paris’ main railway stations, were suspended Friday morning, affecting all 32 scheduled departures between London and Paris. Eurostar announced that normal service is expected to resume Saturday, with an additional train in each direction.

The bomb, weighing half a ton, was discovered around 4 a.m. during excavation work on tracks in Saint Denis, a suburb north of Paris. Authorities also closed the A1 motorway and parts of Paris’ ring road during the operation to secure the area
